The head of state met with the co-rapporteurs for the Republic of Moldova from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe

President Maia Sandu had a meeting today with the co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Pierre-Alain Fridez and Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica. The agenda of the talks with the PACE delegation focused on strengthening democratic institutions in our country and the rule of law. The head of state emphasized the importance of ensuring a transparent electoral process free from external influence. 

Additionally, President Maia Sandu expressed her appreciation for the support provided by the Council of Europe through the Action Plan for Moldova 2021-2024 and for the cooperation in several important areas.

The President highlighted that the authorities will continue the reforms initiated in the field of justice and the fight against corruption. The head of state also reaffirmed our country's commitment to advancing decisively in the process of accession to the European Union.
