The Head of State, After Russia's Attack on a Children's Hospital in Ukraine: “This is a War Against Children”

President Maia Sandu condemned Russia's attack on a children's hospital in Kyiv and sent a message of solidarity with the people of Ukraine. "War against children - we must call it what it is about what happened today in Kyiv, about Russia's bombing of a hospital for children suffering from incurable diseases," said the head of state.

President Maia Sandu declared that the killing of children is not about ideology, geopolitics, or political debates. "It is about innocent children, about bombs hitting hospitals where little ones are fighting against cancer. It is about children dying in their mothers' arms. It is a war against children," the head of state noted.

The President also stated that it is shocking that some still deny these atrocities. “Moldova firmly condemns these war crimes. Let's be united for the right to life of these children and many other children traumatized by war, for a future where every child has the chance to live in peace and well-being,” pointed out the head of state.

The President further emphasized that today's world is completely different from the one before February 2022: “we must focus on what truly matters: stopping the killing of these innocent souls.”
