Presidency of the Republic of Moldova
The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met today with US Congressman Eric M. Swalwell. The interlocutors discussed the security situation in the region, as well as the bilateral cooperation.
The Head of State stressed the importance of the support Moldova has received from the US over the years, both for the consolidation of democratic institutions and for economic development. She expressed the hope that the United States would also help us overcome the current economic and energy crises, which have been exacerbated by the war in Ukraine.
Congressman Eric M. Swalwell praised the authorities' efforts in carrying out key reforms, fighting corruption and bringing the country closer to the European Union, and assured Moldova of the US support in this endeavor.
