President Maia Sandu talked today with Odile Renaud-Basso, the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), who is on a working visit to Chisinau. The discussions concerned the programs financed by the EBRD and the socio-economic development priorities of the country.

The EBRD is the largest institutional investor in Moldova, and last year, it financed projects worth 500 million euros. The bank invests in infrastructure projects, such as roads, railways, and power lines, to ensure a better connection of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union. The importance of financing small and medium enterprises was also addressed, as they represent 98% of all companies in the country. In this context, the head of state thanked the Bank's management for the contribution made to the modernization of the Republic of Moldova and the stimulation of its economy.
