Presidency of the Republic of Moldova
On her way from Geneva, where President Maia Sandu attended the Summit on Effective Development Cooperation, the Head of State had a discussion with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis. The interlocutors talked about bilateral cooperation, the complicated situation in our region, the multiple crises Moldova is facing and the actions the authorities are taking to reduce their impact on our citizens.
"I expressed my appreciation for the assistance provided by Switzerland in several areas, including health projects, water and sanitation, local community development, environmental protection, development of technical vocational education, diaspora and culture", President Maia Sandu stressed.
The Head of State also welcomed the dynamism with which the negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement with EFTA have advanced. "I also thanked President Cassis for the support given by the Swiss side in the discussions on the Free Trade Agreement with EFTA and I appreciated the fact that the negotiations on this agreement are finalising. This agreement will help increase trade with EFTA countries - Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway", President Maia Sandu added.
