Presidency of the Republic of Moldova
President Nicolae Timofti today awarded the Order of the Republic to the four members of the airship of the Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) posthumously.
The distinction was offered to physician Mihaela Dumea, pilot Doru Gavril, medical assistant Adrian-Gabriel Sandu and copilot Constantin Voicu Socae “as a token of high appreciation and gratitude for irreproachable fulfillment of the job duty, as well as for the courage, firmness and spirit of sacrifice proved when rescuing human lives in emergency situations.”
The Order of the Republic is the highest state distinction and is offered for exceptional merits in all activity sectors for the good of the Motherland and mankind.
