Presidency of the Republic of Moldova
President Nicolae Timofti today awarded the Order of Honour to State Secretary at the Romanian Health Ministry, head of the Department for Emergency Situations at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania Raed Arafat, at a ceremony organized at the headquarters of the Moldovan Embassy in Bucharest.
For his part, Raed Arafat handed President Timofti a coin SMURD (Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication) and the medal of this Service, issued on the occasion of the institution’s 25th anniversary.
Also, the Moldovan head of state awarded the honorific title of People’s Artist to Romanian actor Florin Piersic.
The decrees on awarding the state distinctions have been earlier signed by President Nicolae Timofti.
President Timofti ends his official visit to Romania today evening. The Moldovan visiting delegation was made up of Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur, Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Octavian Calmic, Culture Minister Monica Babuc, Moldova’s Ambassador to Romania Mihai Gribincea and presidential advisers.
