President of the country, Igor Dodon met today with Ambassador Peter Michalko, Head of the European Union Delegation to Moldova

Igor Dodon had a meeting with the accredited Ambassador Peter Michalko, Head of the European Union Delegation to Moldova, on the occasion of the presentation of accreditation letters.

The head of the state wished the new ambassador success in his future activities in our country, expressing his confidence that the relations of cooperation will continue in order to realize several projects of common interest in various fields.

Igor Dodon told the Ambassador that, unfortunately, it was left a heavy legacy after 8 years of so-called European integration under the administration of the Chisinau authorities that have changed over this time and at the same time were speculating the subject of standards and quality of EU life here in Chisinau.

"Mr. Peter Michalko is closely acquainted with the situation in our country, because of the fact that he has worked in the Republic of Moldova in various positions and in different periods of time since the 90's until present. Thus, I consider that Ambassador Peter Michalko will not be surprised by the EU flag flying over departmental buildings or cars. Also, I am sure that it will not cause surprise and admiration for him, the vain intentions of introducing into the Constitution the objective of European integration.” said the head of the state.

The president of the country also said that the European Union is our neighbor and one of our most important partners, expressing hope that the relations between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union will have a positive dynamic.
