President Igor Dodon met President of Iran Hassan Rohani on 12 February.
The sides exchanged opinions about bilateral relations between the states and development opportunities.
Dodon said there were more perspective sectors, such as: agriculture, given that Iran’s population had over 80 million citizens. Also, he pointed to the opportunity of cooperation in the energy sector, given that Moldova annually consumed 2.8-3 billion cubic meters of gas and Iran daily produced about 1 billion cubic meters of gas.
In the context, the officials agreed on considering the opportunity to open embassies in the states.
Dodon is on a visit to Iran, following an invitation of FIDE President Kirsan Iliumjinov, on the occasion of carrying out Women’s World Chess Championship.
