Igor Dodon discussed the domestic political situation in Moldova at a meeting with the delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly

The Moldovan President Igor Dodon met with the delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly headed by its President Georgi Tsereteli, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova.

The meeting was also attended by Roberto Montella, General Secretary of the PA, and Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan. The sides touched upon a wide range of issues concerning domestic and foreign policy of our country, as well as the prospects for settling the Transnistrian conflict. They discussed the internal political situation following the results of the early elections of the mayor of the capital, taking into account the forthcoming elections to the Moldovan parliament at the end of the year.

“Actual aspects of the Transnistrian settlement in the part of solving social, humanitarian and transport problems were also discussed. At the same time, I noted that the resolution adopted recently by the UN General Assembly was counterproductive and complicated the negotiation process," Igor Dodon wrote on his social network page.

At the end of the conversation, Igor Dodon thanked the OSCE mission in Moldova for helping to promote the functioning of Gagauzia's autonomy within Moldova, in accordance with the 1994 law on the development of amendments to the legislation on the status and activities of the Gagauz autonomy.
