President Igor Dodon had a working meeting with Prime Minister Pavel Filip on appointing ambassadors

The head of state outlined reservations about some names in the list initially proposed by the government, reservations based on solid arguments. He treats the issue seriously and wants Moldova to be represented abroad by personalities who have the skills needed to promote interests of the country.

As publicly announced, the president does not want to block diplomatic activity of Moldova abroad, and he is committed to thoroughly analyze each candidate for the position of ambassador and even come up with his proposals in terms of appointment of ambassadors and their recall from office.

They approached the issue on withdrawing 10 ambassadors and appointing 17 potential candidates. It was agreed to start procedure for a group of candidates for the position of ambassador of Moldova as follows:

The list of candidates and countries:

1. Andrei NEGUȚA – Moldovan Ambassador to Russia

2. Aurel CIOCOI –  Moldovan Ambassador to the United States

3. Victor SOROCEAN – Moldovan Ambassador to Belarus;

4. Victor OSIPOV – Moldovan Ambassador to Austria

5. Emil DRUC –      Moldovan Ambassador to France

6. Victor MORARU – Ambassador, UN Resident Representative in Moldova /New York

7. Anatol VANGHELI – Moldovan Ambassador to Greece

8. Violeta AGRICI – Moldovan Ambassador to Spain.

The talks between the presidency and the executive on the matter will be continued.
