Moldovan president pays homage to Queen Ana of Romania

President Nicolae Timofti and First Lady of Moldova Margareta Timofti today paid homage to Her Majesty Queen Ana of Romania at Peles Castle, Sinaia, and expressed condolences to the royal family.

Also, the head of state laid flowers and lit a candle near artesian well situated on the terrace of the castle.

Timofti wrote a message in the condolence book:

“We pay homage to Her Majesty Queen Ana of Romania, who has been noticed by modesty and love for country, and whose memory will live forever in the hearts of people.

Representing an overwhelming symbol of nobility, discretion, devotion and resistance, Queen Ana had a strong impact on the destinies of all Romanians. I believe that history leaves us the example of a person, who knew how to live beautifully and worthily.

Deeply saddened by passing away of Queen Ana, we share the grief and express our regret along with the most sincere condolences to His Majesty King Mihai and Royal House of Romania.”
