Moldova to have rich agenda during chairmanship at BSEC Parliamentary Assembly

President Nicolae Timofti today received Secretary-General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Parliamentary Assembly (BSEC PA)  Asaf Hajyev, on a working visit to Moldova.

The head of state welcomed the actions of the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly to turn the Black Sea region into an area of peace, stability and prosperity. He reiterated Moldova's interest in the process of economic cooperation with Black Sea riparian countries.

President Timofti said that, in the first quarter of 2015, during which Moldova holds the organisation's chairmanship, the country was set to have an agenda focused on facilitating trade, developing transport infrastructure, cooperation in the sector of tourism and culture, as well as developing a mutually advantageous cooperation with EU.

The secretary-general of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Parliamentary Assembly, Asaj Hajyev, welcomed the carrying out of the plenary meeting of the BSEC PA's plenary meeting in Chisinau in next June.

The sides highlighted the need to foster, within the organisation, projects on developing the transport infrastructure and in the energy sector. This will allow connecting with pan-European and Eurasian networks, as well as diversifying the energy sources.
