Moldovan president participates in closing event of Dragoon Pioneer 2016 drills

President Nicolae Timofti today participated in a closing ceremony of the Dragoon Pioneer 2016 drills. The event was carried out at the Engineer Battalion, deployed in Negresti village, Straseni district.

Timofti conveyed a message to thank American partners for the constant support provided to Moldova.

Also, as a token of deep gratitude to the important contribution to developing the cooperation between Moldova and United States in defence sector, Timofti gave state awards – Military Merit Medal to Alexander George Deraney, Commander of Engineer Battalion within the Cavalry 2 Regiment, U.S.A., and the Civic Merit Medal – to Joseph Carlton Bilbo, Defence Attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Moldova.
