President Maia Sandu undertakes a working visit to the United Kingdom and Ireland

A new vision for Moldova’s national security makes a commitment to strengthen democracy, build a prosperous European country and ensure that all citizens are protected by a modern security sector.
This visit comes following an invitation from United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres. Today marks the commencement of her visit, during which she will actively participate in the high-level segment of the 78th session of the General Assembly.
On August 24, Ukraine marks Independence Day, and on this occasion, the head of state came with a congratulatory message: "Today Ukraine celebrates its Independence Day with dignity. Independence is when citizens can decide their own future, when they have the freedom to build their own country as they see it. Ukrainians, through their boundless courage and determination, remind us of this truth every day," said President Maia Sandu.
During her working visit to the Hellenic Republic, the head of state had a bilateral meeting with her Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The officials talked about the transit of Ukrainian grains on our territory, the latest developments on the front and our European course.
During the event in Athens, President Maia Sandu discussed Moldovan-Hellenic cooperation with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotákis. The Republic of Moldova is interested in even closer cooperation with the Hellenic Republic in several areas, including energy.
At the invitation of the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriákos Mitsotákis, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, attended a meeting in Athens that brought together officials from the Western Balkans, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Ukraine and the leaders of the European Union.
