President Maia Sandu held talks with Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau, OSCE Chairman-in-Office

The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met yesterday with Zbigniew Rau, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE. The Polish official was on a working visit to our country in the context of Poland taking over the Chairmanship-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on 1 January 2022.

The interlocutors discussed the current security situation in the region, caused by the war in Ukraine, the crises caused by it and the risks for our country. President Maia Sandu mentioned the importance of the peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, through exclusively diplomatic means, ensuring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and resulting in a functioning state. For his part, Zbigniew Rau expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the authorities and citizens of our country in helping refugees from Ukraine.
