Nicolae Timofti said that a campaign on promoting European values would be launched in Moldova soon, in order to impede the propaganda of denigrating the European Union.
Nicolae Timofti is confident that the Ukrainian political forces and all sides involved in recent conflicts and disputes will be able to further rationally and wisely choose the political option, in order to avoid a new deadlock, in the interest of the Ukrainian people.
Nicolae Timofti voiced confidence that Moldova’s modernisation programme, implemented by the Chisinau authorities, will place the country on an irreversible European path.
„The main lesson of the Afghanistan war is than no ideology can be imposed to a nation by the force of weapons”.
„We must be proud of the fact that we were contemporaries with Grigore Vieru, who wrote with love poems about our nation, native language and country,” Timofti said.
“During the EU presidency term, Greece set on the agenda of priorities providing Moldova with needed assistance for its European integration”, Avramopoulos said.
UNDP Resident Representative in Moldova Nicola Harrington-Buhay said that one of the organisation’s priorities was providing logistic support to the Moldovan authorities to conduct the population and housing census in 2014.
