President Nicolae Timofti today met Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird. Baird conveyed a message of solidarity with Moldovan people in the current difficult regional context.
Corlatean expressed support for the integrity, sovereignty and territorial unity of Moldova. He pointed out that the evolution of the situation in Crimea presented a danger to security in this region of Europe.
American Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said the Moldova-United States relations were “stronger than ever” at present.
President Nicolae Timofti met Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, on a visit to Moldova, at the presidential residence today. The discussion focused on Moldova's European agenda, the political situation in the region and bilateral ties.
President Timofti reiterated Moldova's wish to speed up the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union.
"Moldova still has weak points that can be overcome only with the support of its international partners," noted Nicolae Timofti.
