The president praised the qualities of Viorel Cibotaru and voiced confidence that the new leadership of the Defence Ministry would manage to ensure the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova, in the context of the complex regional situation.
President Nicolae Timofti today signed a decree on the appointment of the government, on the basis of the confidence vote given by the parliament, under the Article 98, paragraph 4 of the Constitution.

According to the Constitution, Chiril Gaburici has a delay of 15 days in order to request the parliament’s confidence vote for the government’s action programme and full list. During the talks held by Timofti and the parliamentary factions, the Liberal Democratic Party proposed Chiril Gaburici as candidate for the prime minister post.
