President Timofti held a meeting with the leaders of the Democratic Party (PDM) on 14 December, who tried to convince him to nominate the former PDM leader, Vladimir Plahotniuc, for the position of prime minister.
President Nicolae Timofti concluded his visit to Turkmenistan on 12 December. He participated in an international conference on neutrality policy: international cooperation for peace, security and development.
In Ashgabat, the head of state will have bilateral meetings with Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili and President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko.
The president expressed concern about the cuts, especially, as regards amending the budget in energy sector.
The head of state gave a speech at the event, in which he referred to Moldova's contribution to reducing the climate changes and unveiled the country's vision on international environmental policies.
It is the most important climate change conference in the world, aiming to achieve an international anti-pollution agreement to keep global warming below 2°C.
