As a sign of the profound sadness caused by the death of Queen Anne of Romania, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Mr Nicolae Timofti, signed a decree declaring August 13, 2016 as day of national mourning.

By the side of the Kind, in the years of exile, the Queen promoted and loved the Country, believing in Romania’s return to Democracy. With the same clean feelings, as the whole Royal family, she has backed the European aspirations of Moldova.
The event was organized by the Moldovan Parliament and the Constitutional Court of Moldova, in a solemn atmosphere, at the Palace of the Republic.
