In Salzburg, the head of state met today with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, whom she thanked for the support given to our country, including through the Austrian Development Agency. "The current projects carried out in the Republic of Moldova, with the help of the Austrian state and its citizens, are in line with our priorities: rural development, providing the population with water and sewage services, development of public services, projects in education, agriculture, environmental protection", the President stressed.
As well, President Maia Sandu told Chancellor Nehammer that the government in Chișinău is making every effort to meet the European Commission's conditions and open negotiations with the European Union as soon as possible. "We are also counting on Austria's support to convince the European community that Moldova takes its commitments seriously and that it has started a process of fundamental reforms. We need all the support to advance on the European path, the only way to ensure peace and prosperity", added the head of state.
