President Maia Sandu discussesed the current events in the country and in the region with a group of MEPs

The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met today with a group of MEPs who are on a working visit to our country. The Head of State spoke about the authorities’ efforts to respond to the security challenges caused by the war in Ukraine. President Maia Sandu reiterated the importance of opening up the European Union market for Moldovan producers, who are unable to export to the East because of the war.

MEPs expressed their solidarity and appreciation for the efforts of our authorities and citizens in managing the large flow of refugees from Ukraine. They also said that the European Parliament will identify new ways to support the Republic of Moldova in mitigating the consequences of these crises, to advance democratic reforms and facilitate economic recovery.
