„Romania is an unreserved supporter of our European path. I thanked President Basescu for the precious support and for his involvement in projects of strategic importance to Moldova, namely, the European integration, energy security and the Transnistrian conflict settlement”.
The two officials debated a string of common projects, meant to ensure the energy security of Moldova. “Romania is inter-connected to the European energy network and may provide to Moldova an alternative for the import of gas and electric energy,” the Romanian head of state said.
The two officials reiterated both sides’ interest to boost the bilateral economic relations. President Nicolae Timofti stressed that the Chisinau authorities are undertaking the required actions to ensure an attractive climate for foreign investors.
Nicolae Timofti and Nurberdy Amanmuradov agreed that the Moldovan and Turkmen authorities start discussions on a string of joint economic projects, including those in the energy sector.
