The two officials reviewed the bilateral ties and agreed to deepen them, especially the economic, political and cultural relations.
The two presidents discussed the need to work out and sign a Joint Declaration on setting a strategic partnership between the two countries.
President Nicolae Timofti, on a visit to Turkey, today met his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul at the presidential palace in Ankara.
Upon his arrival in Ankara on 17 December evening, President Nicolae Timofti visited the embassy of Moldova, where he met Ambassador Igor Bolboceanu and the members of the diplomatic mission. The head of state also awarded the Order of Honour to Turkish MP Ismail Safi.
