Nicolae Timofti said Moldova would take over the example of the Baltic and Northern States as regards the implementation of reforms, efficiency of state institutions and fight against corruption.
The European official said the politicians must explain to the citizens the benefits of Moldova signing the Association Agreement with the EU.
Timofti said that despite the foreign political and economic pressures, the Moldovan authorities would exercise their right to sign the Association Agreement with the EU.
„The Association Agreement with the EU will be signed in the nearest future. Its positive effects will be felt by all citizens”.
The distinction was conferred to the European officials as a token of “high appreciation for special merits in boosting Moldova’s integration into European institutions”.
Cemil Cicek said that Turkey supported Moldova's European agenda and that all Moldovan citizens, including those from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (Gagauz Yeri) would benefit from the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU.
Timofti and Popescu-Tariceanu analyzed the stage of implementing joint projects in the economic, social and cultural sectors. They agreed to be identified new cooperation areas for the benefit of citizens from both banks of the Prut.
