Elected on past 25 May in the first round of polls, by 54.7 per cent of ballots, Petro Poroshenko, aged 48, took oath in the parliament, on Constitution and Gospel, and was declared the fifth president of independent Ukraine.

President Nicolae Timofti has signed a decree on Mr. Elisei Secrieru’s dismissal from the office of judge of the Bender Court of Appeal, according to his application, under Article 25 paragraph (1), letter a) of the Law on the Status of Judges.
