President Nicolae Timofti, Parliament Speaker Igor Corman and Prime Minister Iurie Leanca laid flowers at the monument to Stefan cel Mare, on the occasion of the 510th anniversary of the ruler’s death. Attending the event were MPs, ministers, culture people, citizens, who stood silent for a minute in the memory of ruler.
Rosen Plevneliev assured that the Bulgarian parliament would ratify the Moldova-EU Association Agreement as soon as possible.
A draft law in this respect was approved by the government today, by the decision no. 487 from 28 June 2014, forwarded to Timofti.
Gerard Guillonneau welcomed the signing of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union in Brussels today. The official was confident that the Moldovans would use this historic opportunity to join the family of European nations.
„For us, the rapprochement to the European Union means more jobs, higher salaries and pensions, as well as the guarantee of observance of human rights and freedoms”.
Timofti praised the technical and financial assistance provided by Germany within the programmes of consolidation of Moldovan democratic institutions, as well as the German investors’ contribution to develop the national economy. Timofti was confident that the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union would boost up the bilateral cooperation in all sectors.
