Igor Dodon participated in the opening of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games

On Sunday evening, the President of the Republic of Moldova took part in the opening of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games - a large-scale sports event in Asia that was organized in Ashgabat.

The opening ceremony was attended by heads of state and senior officials from more than 30 countries, including the Russian Federation, India, China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Romania, Turkey, and others. Since 2017, in the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, have participated all 45 members of the Asian Olympic Council and 19 members of the National Olympic Committee of Oceania have been included for the first time.

The head of state noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of sports and new sports grounds and arenas are being put into operation on a weekly basis throughout the country. A healthy lifestyle is a priority for the country's leadership.

During his visit to Turkmenistan, Igor Dodon was also impressed by the city of Ashgabat, the policy of urbanism and architecture, which is being held there.

"The new city is built of white marble, almost every building is an architectural monument created by local residents along with the best architects from abroad. Each new block has playgrounds, football fields, basketball, volleyball courts, and in every third block there is a tennis court. Each residential block is equipped with social centers for various events, children's creativity, etc., „the president of the country noted.

The head of state expressed his admiration for the considerable attention that the leadership of Turkmenistan gives for the development of sport in his country. In his opinion, this is one of the best investments in prosperity and in the promotion of the country.
